Job Title:Special Testing CoordinatorDepartment:Optometry | Main Clinic

Serves as the Special Testing Coordinator for the College of Optometry to perform ocular photography, ultrasound, ocular imaging including fundus photography (posterior pole and widefield Optos), and ocular coherence tomography (OCT), special testing image management with imaging instruments and EHR including de-identification and management of images utilized for instruction of the optometric curriculum, and other procedures as directed by Clinic Services faculty; assists interns with proper use of the visual field machines, ocular response analyzer (ORA), autorefractors, LipiView, B-scan, anterior segment camera, and topographers; provides instrumentation & special testing training to attending optometrists, students, and staff; assists with research requests regarding special testing; works with ophthalmic equipment team to coordinate equipment repair and replacement as needed; reviews medical records for accuracy and completeness; coordinates patient care issues with medical records department, patient relations, and checkout staff; assists with AOC clinic scheduling and insurance verification; monitors patient attendance of AOC appointments; manages OTC and pharmaceutical samples for main clinic and satellite clinics; maintains stocking of all main campus consult rooms; manages inventory and ordering of clinic and office supplies office supplies for the main clinic, satellite clinics, preclinic, and student organizations; maintains stocking and hygiene for all main clinic and preclinic exam rooms; manages Student Hygiene Assistants; serves as the Inventory Coordinator for the College of Optometry to maintain inventory compliance; conducts regular and accurate physical counts of inventory items for resale, inventory stocking, consults with the Health Systems analyst and appropriate clinic staff to troubleshoot inventory discrepancies and maintain established protocols, collaborates on creating new inventory protocols; performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education Required

  • High School Diploma or GED

Desired experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-2 years relevant experience
  • Experience in ophthalmology or the optometric field.
  • Able to demonstrate competence operating ophthalmic instrumentation
  • Self motivated and highly detailed oriented
  • Positive attitude and excellent oral communication skills required.
Additional Information:

Ray Range: $18.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience
