Job Description:
Process and review all documents related to applications for licenses and maintain these associated records of license issuance or denial for professions/occupations related to Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioners (LIMHP), Licensed Mental Health Practitioners (LMHP), Certified Marriage and Family Therapists (MFT), Certified Professional Counselors (CPC), Master Social Worker (MSW) and Certified Social Worker (CSW).

Register and download examinations for LIMHP, LMHP, MFT, CPC, MSW, and CSW and posts the Jurisprudence Exam scores on License Information System (LIS).

Review transcripts, examination scores, and other required documents for initial licensure. Follow appropriate administrative procedures for the issuance, renewal, audit, reinstatement, and inactivation of these credentials.

Enter licensing and renewal data into the LIS and update LIS based upon change notifications, including name changes, death, and address. Interfaces with licensees, applicants, general public, and others regarding statutory and regulatory licensing and certification requirements.

Handle routine telephone calls, email correspondence, maintain files, and operates copiers and fax machine.

Requirements: Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/ or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.

Preferred: The ability to review applications and documents in accordance with statutes, regulations, and guidelines. Computer experience, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Access or other similar software. Experience in handling incoming telephone calls and in-person related customer service related to status of applications and/or required documentation, organizing, tracking, updating and timely filing and retrieving of electronic and manual records and files, and working with confidential documents and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance. Bilingual is preferred.

The successful candidate will be customer-focused, detail-oriented, have a high personal standard of integrity, and share the Department's mission. Possess strong time management, problem-solving, and communication skills. Must have effective communication skills and able to accurately explain state statutes, regulations, and application requirements to both internal and external customers. Must be able to real legal documents and understand statutes and regulations. Must demonstrate ability to seek direction as needed.
