RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client seeking a Software Engineering Manager in West Sacramento, CA.Responsibilities:

• Manage and provide technical guidance to team members of a department or section and creates a positive experience for team members as a servant leader
• Adapt department plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges applying sound independent judgement and decision-making
• Apply understanding of department objectives in the design and implementation of programs, policies and procedures
• Interview, select, evaluate and recognize team member results and actions; Accountable for the performance and results of a team within the software engineering section
• Promote a constructive work environment, organizing staff to accomplish work and meet business demands and demonstrate initiative and risk taking
• Provide team with opportunities for on-going self-development
• Reviews expenses and payroll time records and approves
• Manage internal and external (vendor) software design, development and implementation in a sub-function of the IT department: HR & Finance
• Ensure that all project requirements and user needs are met within quality and time standards
• Collaborate with other IT management and staff such as network, database, security, technical support, and quality, to ensure internally developed and/or vendor software solutions meet departmental standards
• Respond to inquiries from corporate and store employees, management and vendors; Answers questions, provides documentation, interprets policies, resolves intermediate to complex problems and discrepancies
• Provide input to the department's budget on items such as employee headcount, training needs and process improvements/initiatives
• Develop relationships with management and vendors to serve as the main contact for problem resolution, requests and inquiries

REQUIREMENTS:

• BA/BS or MA/MS in Computer Science or related subject, preferred
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, three (3) years of which is in a software development project leader role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Business knowledge of these major functions: HR, Finance and Payroll
• Must reside in CA, NV, AZ and NM; Occasionally travel to Sacramento or Arizona
• Advanced knowledge of software engineering design and implementation
• ERP Configuration (SAP, Oracle Cloud HCM), HANA (huge plus)
• Integration experience
• Experience with Reflexis or other time and attendance applications
• Advanced knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
• Effective verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills to department and business area management
• Effective people and project management skills
