Position: Software Engineer III
Job Location: 10500 NE 8th Street, Bellevue, WA 98004
Duties: Develop new features and capabilities for the Natural Language Processing (NLP) system. Identify new ways to use NLP to solve business problems and develop the code to implement those solutions. Collaborate with other engineers and data scientists to build and improve NLP systems. Develop, deploy, and maintain machine learning models for a variety of NLP tasks. Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements. Understand the business problem that the NLP system is being developed to solve and designing and developing a system that meets those needs. Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in machine learning and NLP. Read research papers, attend conferences, and participate in online communities to stay ahead of the curve in this rapidly evolving field. Develop new machine learning algorithms, build new NLP datasets, and conduct research on new NLP applications. Design, develop, and test various NLP features such as text-to-shop support, speech-to-shop support and integrate Walmart shopping assistance facilities with other voice assistants like Alexa, Google Home, and Siri. Collaborate with cross functional teams, troubleshoot open issues and bug-fixes, enhance design to prevent re-occurrences of defects, and ensure on-time delivery to production.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area; OR Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years of experience in software engineering or a related area.
Skills required: Experience programming in one of the following languages: Python, Java, or C++. Experience with TensorFlow machine learning framework. Experience with one of the following cloud computing platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience with data collection, cleaning, and preprocessing. Experience designing, developing, and conducting tests. Experience with natural language processing (NLP) techniques. Experience operating Natural Language Processing (NLP) models. Experience with version control tool Git. Experience deploying features in a CI/CD environment using Docker and Kubernetes. Experience querying and testing databases using SQL and NoSQL databases. Experience with machine learning algorithms and neural network concepts. Employer will accept any amount of graduate coursework, graduate research experience or professional experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $110,864/year to $216,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
