Job Description:

Your way to impact

The Payment Experiences team is the product owner of Pay with Venmo, Pay with PayPal, and Digital Wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay) for Braintree merchants. We build backend APIs that many of the largest and most familiar companies are depending on to keep their payments running smoothly.

Your day to day

In your day-to-day role you will:

  • Work on a large Rails app that serves millions of API requests a day
  • Flex your object-oriented & data modelling skills to design systems
  • Pair program to build new products, solve problems, and learn from others
  • Be in an agile environment that prioritizes interaction and collaboration with other teams to solve together
  • Write effective unit tests with rspec

What do you need to bring-

We're looking for engineers who care about building lean and maintainable code at scale, are effective at technical communication, work well with others (we pair program!), and enjoy the beauty of a well-written unit test suite.

  • You know how to write highly scalable and distributed Ruby on Rails services, or have a strong grasp of another object-oriented language and are willing to learn
  • You understand how to work with relational databases and are comfortable with SQL
  • You prefer to work in an agile environment, and are open to pair programming
  • You believe that features aren't complete without automated tests. You see the value of test-driven development, and know when it's the right tool.
  • You have great technical communication skills: you know how to give a summary of high-level concepts and when to dive deep into the details

**We know the confidence gap and imposter syndrome can get in the way of meeting spectacular candidates. Please don't hesitate to apply.
