ECS is seeking a Software Development Engineer to work in our Arlington, VA office.

Job Description:
ECS seeks a dynamic and experienced Senior Software Developer to provide solution engineering design, development and deployment services for our national security client. ECS is building an online Marketplace, to include features which facilitate the effective communication, acquisition and delivery of Cybersecurity services across the Federal Government. We are seeking a problem solver, who enjoys the challenge of tackling technical tasks and problems with little oversight, and connecting dots to think at the broader, solution level. A strong desire and aptitude for learning is a must with a proven ability to adapt and drive change - our solution is rapidly evolving, along with new requirements, technologies and the threat landscape. Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience writing well structured code and applications using coding best practices to deliver enterprise applications. Candidates should have a solid understanding of application architecture and interfaces as well as experience with data modeling, software development and the execution of lifecycle delivery and support services, including SecDevOps and the integration of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively seeking opportunities to define and improve processes to align and optimize resources across functional areas, and in response to a dynamic customer environment
  • Execute an effective customer satisfaction and client management strategy, including routine customer meetings, deliverables and activities to ensure effective risk and quality management
  • Provide thought leadership and influence through strong leadership and consultative, analytical, organizational, and design skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and navigate strong personalities using excellent communication skills
  • Enjoy mentoring and coaching more junior level resources, and leading various technical design and delivery initiatives.
Required Skills:
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • 10+ years experience using Agile and SecDevOps practices and tools to iteratively and rapidly deliver secure enterprise scale solutions.
  • 5+ years experience leading technical analysis and solution development efforts, including evaluating new methodologies and technologies, make recommendations that meet requirements and optimally deliver technical capabilities that match business needs (reliability, performance, maintainability, scalability, security, usability) on projects of similar size, scope, and complexity.
  • 5+ years experience working with Customer Experience / Human Centered Design experts to deliver customer-focused, effective solutions
  • 5+ years experience iteratively building and deploying web-based applications and data platforms in AWS and Azure - HTML/CSS, Javascript, responsive web UI frameworks [Vue.js, React.js, Angular,js, bootstrap]
  • Experience with Microservice Frameworks: Java/Spring Boot, Golang/GoMicro, NodeJS, and AWS and Azure Native technology stacks: Containers, Serverless, SQL/NoSQL, Object Storage
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in an Agile team environment; Experience leading technical delivery efforts, including task identification, decomposition, delegation and monitoring.
  • 5+ years experience designing and implementing solutions to include consideration of Federal Security requirements (i.e. compliance with Federal ATO requirements across all security domains)
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
Desired Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience delivering marketplace solutions
  • Experience delivering technical excellence in the federal space, particularly experience with DHS Programs and the DHS SELC
  • Contributor to open source projects.
  • Relevant professional level cloud or DevOps certifications
