Position Summary:

The Small Business Credit Analyst I will be responsible for evaluating loan applications by analyzing commercial bureaus and consumer bureaus to assess creditworthiness of potential borrowers. Makes recommendations, issues approvals and declines credit requests in accordance with company credit risk policies, compliance guidelines, and profitability models. Will also ensure compliance with company lending policies, regulations, and industry standards.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review loan applications and conduct underwriting activities to assess risk, including analyzing commercial and consumer credit reports and other relevant data.
  • Determine credit limits, terms, structure, and interest rates based on risk assessment and company lending policies and determine credit risk.
  • Manages exceptions to published credit authority using judgment and experience to produce risk outcomes within company expectations.
  • Communicates loan application outcomes to dealer via phone, email, or other appropriate means and follows-up to solicit business.
  • Completes final disposition on credit applications or forwards to appropriate level of authority for final approval.
  • Makes outbound and handles inbound calls to negotiate final terms of contracts with both our dealer customer and the DRM.
  • Maintain confidentiality of personal information for consumers, including, but not limited to, Social Security numbers, and dates of birth.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year auto finance experience as a loan processor, funder, or relevant experience.

Education:

  • High school diploma and or/GED.

Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of credit reports, credit risk assessment, and underwriting principles.
  • Proficient in analyzing complex financial data and using financial modeling techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on thorough analysis and evaluation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills in Word and PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Knowledge of industry specific web-based tools such as DnB, Experian, LexisNexis, etc.

  • Overtime required required on an as needed basis.
  • Travel 0-10% - as required on an as needed basis.
  • Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to: Dallas, TX
