Overview

Steampunk is seeking experienced ServiceNow Architects to support our Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) clients. CISA leads the national effort to understand, manage, and reduce risk to critical infrastructure. CISA is charged with leading theNation's strategic and unified work to assure the security and resilience of the nation's cyber systems, protecting the American way of life.

As the premier Federal Civilian cybersecurity agency, CISA impacts a broad range of operational cybersecurity challenges within our Nation's infrastructure and is working to transform how we think about and address these challenges moving forward. Our goal is to help CISA build systems and execute strategies to assist CISA programs in effectively addressing cyber threats, reducing the risk landscape and understanding where investments need to be made to enhance the security posture of our Nation's systems and critical functions.
Contributions

As a Steampunk ServiceNow Architect, you will spearhead efforts to modernize and transition business processes into the ServiceNow application to lead process improvements and automation. In this role you will translate real-world needs into technical specifications. You will leverage your experience to work directly with the client, across cross-functional teams and with subject matter experts to bring our team's conceptual ideas to life, providing our clients with exceptional solutions and functional products. The ideal candidate is driven in the pursuit of customer success, has previous hands-on experience with ServiceNow development and is looking for an opportunity that can challenge the status quo, exploring new boundaries to make strategic and technical decisions that deliver upon desired business outcomes.

Key contributions of this role include:

  • Building and maintaining client relationships tofoster and promote innovative thinking across a fast-paced client environment, enabling the delivery of innovative and high-quality ServiceNow solutions.
  • Leading integration efforts for highly complex or enterprise-critical innovation projects that require extensive knowledge of advanced techniques in multiple technical disciplines.
  • Coordinating with our Service Designers to facilitate workshops or meetings to gather requirements, present and validate solutions, and test the interpretation of the client's needs.
  • Analyzing and translating business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve complex business objectives.
  • Designing, developing, testing, and deployinghigh quality ServiceNow solutions utilizing best practices while balancing the unique needs of our clients.
  • Validatingsolution components and providing solution walkthroughs withcustomer, taking initiative to recommend process improvements,identifyingtechnical issues/risks,and presentingalternatives to alleviate or resolvechallenges.
  • Developing and maintaining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure and monitor the performance of the requirements. Provides ongoing implementation, change management, and strategic communications and documentation support.
  • Serving as an active contributor of leading practices, standards, and thought leadership related to the ServiceNow platform.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of industry trends and tools to provide best practice insight and best-in-class recommendations to clients and Steampunk team members.
  • Establishing and managing technical governance, including developing sustainable mechanisms to document, store, and retrieve all IT policies, standards, and processes.
Qualifications
  • US Citizen Only
  • Ability to hold a position of public trust with the US government.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in ServiceNow architecture, solution design and solution implementation
  • Certification as a Certified System Administrator; additional certification as Certified Application Developer desired
  • Experience with scripting in the ServiceNow platform using JS: Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, UI Pages, Angular JS, Jelly, etc.
  • Experience with key technologies relevant to ServiceNow integration solutions
  • Knowledge of ITIL, minimum foundation level, ideally higher
  • Ability to apply innovative approaches to solving technical and design issues
  • Previous experience with building software using agile methods in a DevOps environment
  • Experience with software development, software architecture, APIs, and microservices
  • Broad skillset with demonstrated knowledge of System, Data, Security, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Technology Architecture Domains
  • Previous experience building prototypes to evaluate risk & complexity and demonstrate optimal approach
  • Previous experience with automating tests for determining quality, security, performance, and usability of a system.
  • Self-motivated and focused on delivering outcomes; ability to work both independently and within team setting in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills (writing, speaking, and listening)
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills, particularly in designing ServiceNow solutions

"Nice to Have" Experience and Skill Sets:
  • Familiarity workingwith federal governmentcustomers
  • Consulting experience preferred, including consulting/professional services industry
  • Experience in Lean Design, Test Driven Development (TDD), and Behavior Driven Development (BDD)
  • Experience writing and evaluating user stories, acceptance criteria, and pull-requests
  • Working knowledge of Git and repository providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket
