Job Description

GPIis seekingan experienced Senior Transportation Technician with a diverse background supporting transportation project development in Delaware and Maryland.

We are looking for an individual that is ready to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplined team of engineers, planners, scientists, and technicians in a growing office environment. GPI has numerous interesting and challenging projects involving all types of roadway, bridge, intersection, and trail designs. Responsibilities:

  • Deliver roadway and bridge projects for clients such as DelDOT, Maryland SHA, and numerous counties and municipalities
  • Build effective client relationships by working collaboratively with the client & multidiscipline teams
  • Support engineering designs that are responsive to project needs
  • Complete tasks within assigned schedule and budget
  • Develop and coordinate project designs, calculations, details, and estimates
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years experience in transportation project development and project management
  • Leadership skills, communication skills, and ability to work with others in a collaborative fast-paced environment
  • Experience in road and utility construction methods and procedures including construction inspection
  • Experience in coordination of permitting for utility relocations, commercial entrances, and subdivisions
  • Experience in the use of DelDOT's Utility Permit Application (UPA)
  • Experience in performing, reading and interpreting topographic surveys

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
