The Senior Talent Acquisition (TA) Manager is responsible for advancing functional excellence in Talent Acquisition, leading the US Talent Acquisition team and meeting Materion's hiring demands for hourly and salaried hiring needs. The role also provides guidance to Materion's regional HR teams in EMEA and APAC and is responsible for overseeing and guiding recruiting infrastructure, maintaining the effectiveness of Materion's Employment Value Proposition (EVP) as it relates to recruiting, and influencing and providing counsel to HR and Materion's hiring managers to continually strengthen the talent pipeline and grow internal talent.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive and consistent strategies, tools and processes related to workforce planning, staffing efficiencies and staffing costs. Ensure consistent alignment of recruiting strategy and deployment to business objectives.
  • Maintain a fresh and effective approach to attracting talent, including maintaining a contemporary employment value proposition (EVP) aligned to Materion's values.
  • Be a culture steward, weaving our mission and values into all things talent related. With business leaders, HR business partners and HR CoE colleagues, foster a performance-based culture that allows talent to thrive and be recognized.
  • Be a trusted mentor and coach to Managers and HR. Help to further develop 'talent spotters' and continue to build attraction and assessment capabilities.
  • Partner with field personnel to learn, seek feedback, and implement creative TA solutions.
  • Provide expertise and education for HRBP's to ensure they are appropriately oriented and understand TA/HRBP roles & responsibilities to ensure effective partnering.
  • Guide the strategy and ongoing development of Materion's College / University Relations program to build Materion's early career pipeline. Partner with executive and managers to strengthen Materion's position on college campuses and ensure positive and engaging experiences for Summer Interns and Graduating Seniors.
  • Drive the institutionalization of talent acquisition operational metrics / dashboards for hiring managers and analyze recruiting metrics to understand opportunities within the recruiting funnel. Partner with business teams and field HR to implement improvements and continually improve Materion's staffing processes to deliver an exceptional customer and candidate experience.
  • Maintain regular communication and transparency for Materion's leadership team on recruiting progress, key wins and challenges.
  • Provide leadership for the U.S. Talent Acquisition team and ensure the team is appropriately staffed to meet U.S. hiring needs.
  • Ensure effective sourcing and advertising channels/campaigns for hourly and salaried hires to meet demands. Identify supplemental resources / contractors to support recruiting spikes.
  • Manage staffing vendors and contracts to ensure cost-effective, superior and timely delivery of services.
  • Stay abreast of employment law changes and trends that impact the business and recommend / modify policies as needed.
  • Participate in global talent initiatives, including acquisition, due diligence and integration initiatives as needed.
  • Partner with BU HR Leaders and field HR to provide input on career pathing and onboarding to support attraction and retention.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or business-related discipline; advanced degree a plus.
  • Minimum 12 years experience in HR, to include leading a Talent Acquisition team in a technical manufacturing setting, supporting both salaried and hourly recruiting, full lifecycle recruiting, overseeing college recruiting program.
  • Experience with contemporary talent acquisition practices and digital technologies, e.g. social media, job boards, applicant tracking systems, experience with sourcing, advertising and employment branding.
  • Workday, talent analytics, and workforce planning experience.
