Position Summary

MAG Aerospace is currently seeking a motivated Sr. Systems Engineer to support the NAWCTSD Engineering. An ideal candidate will be able lead integration projects through the systems engineering process, maintain system operations, comprehend modification design, and understand mission equipment payloads (MEPs).

The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to brief large audiences on progress along with identified risks and issues. Candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal oversight and support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Facilitate the Distributed Mission Training (DMT) development for a variety of military aircraft platforms (e.g., F-18, F-35, E-2D, H-60).
  • Monitor each platform's progress via daily communications, TIMs, and testing events and facilitate the connection of each platform into their DMT environment.
  • Support analyses and studies for requirements development, engineering feasibility, system affordability, reliability, maintainability, testability, systems integration, vulnerability, and susceptibility.
  • Support and evaluate customer/operational need to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional requirements.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

The required skills and knowledge include:
  • Experience with F-35 interoperability.
  • Ten (10) years of practical experience in systems engineering associated with modeling and simulation within the training and training systems domains.
  • Five (5) years of acquisition experience, with three (3) years in a DoD program directly supporting Training and/or Training Systems Acquisition.
  • Five (5) years of experience with support engineering functions such as reliability, maintainability, EMI, logistics, program funding, statistics, facilities, cost estimating, risk analysis/assessment, and human factors.
  • Five (5) years of experience with current and future military equipment, systems, and associated tactics (U.S., allied, and threat nations).
  • Five (5) years of experience with a wide range of non-engineering, non-scientific information in the form of Federal Acquisition Regulations, Military Standards, Department of the Navy (DON)/DoD/NA VAIR policies, directives, and instructions.

Education

The minimum level of education required is:
  • B.S. in Electronics, Computer, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Mathematician, or equivalent from an ABET-accredited institution.

  • Current DOD Top Secret Clearance
