Job Description

Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions (VWTS) - Engineered Systems is seeking an experienced and dynamic Field Service Manager to join their team in the West Texas region. This key leadership role will involve building and leading a team of twenty professionals responsible for providing exceptional customer service and account management for the company's water and wastewater treatment solutions.

The ideal candidate should possess an industrial or technical background, preferably in the water and wastewater treatment industry, with proven experience in customer and account management, as well as team leadership. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Initially, the position will be remote for the first few months, allowing for flexibility during the construction phase of a new plant in Odessa, Texas. However, from Fall 2024 onwards, the successful candidate will be required to relocate and work on-site in Odessa, Texas.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the growth and success of VWTS's operations in the West Texas region. The Field Service Manager will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing team, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving business growth through effective account management and team leadership.

About the role:

  • Lead fulfillment of the VWTS Field Service activities within the assigned customer base

  • Responsible for all Field Service operational metrics within the assigned customer base, including Environmental, Health and Safety, quality of service, utilization, commercial development and cost to serve

  • Own operation of the contract, and management of customer relations in assigned customer base

  • Responsible for lifecycle management of all assets within the assigned customer base, ensuring the team has necessary tools, and skills to prevent failures and deterioration of equipment

  • Co-own revenue numbers with commercial leaders

  • Help identify and drive productivity projects in the region

  • Responsible for building a team from the ground up and holding them responsible for day-to-day fulfillment

  • Participate in the commissioning and start up phases of the new plant

  • Partner with Human Resources and Training Team, direct staffing activities in the assigned customer base, including recruitment, selection and training of staff

  • Responsible for developing front line leaders, technicians and support functions with necessary skills to successfully meet fulfillment obligations

  • Own development of strong succession plans for the assigned team

  • Review Voice of Customer survey results and own closure of identified deficiencies

  • Drive timely closure of customer issues or audit findings

  • Communicate with leadership and supporting functions, and request necessary resources when something is off target

  • Foster a culture, and drive continuous improvement within the assigned team

  • Foster a culture of respect, responsibility, solidarity, innovation and customer focus with the assigned team

Qualifications

Core Requirements:

  • BS degree in a technical field i.e., Chemistry, Chemical Engineer, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Minimum five years' experience and relevant leadership experience in industrial water, wastewater, or Oil & Gas water treatment solutions or related field

  • Fluent in Spanish

Desired

  • Ability and willingness to travel in the South region, with an estimated travel of 10%

  • Ability and willingness to work in and lead cross-functional teams

  • Demonstrated Program / Project management skills

  • Computer proficient with ability to learn other software applications

  • Strong service-related background

  • Experience managing a workforce in West Texas or similar work environment (Oil fields)
