Contributions

As a Sr. Research Analyst, you will be supporting our Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) client leadership by providing qualitative and quantitative analysis and deriving insights that support strategy, programming and cybersecurity capabilities and services delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Build an advanced understanding of current and proposed CISA programs and services.
  • Develop profiles of CISA Federal agency customers and an in-depth understanding of their current cybersecurity capabilities, the requirements they have, and how CISA capabilities and services either currently meet or can me modified to meet these requirements.
  • Conduct research that helps CISA programs understand Federal stakeholders needs and develop specific recommendations that drive CISA improvements to products, services, policies, and processes.
  • Conduct research on commercially available and advanced cybersecurity and cyber-defense capabilities that can significantly improve the cyber defense capabilities of the CISA Federal stakeholder partners.
  • Conduct research on cybersecurity policies and operational processes. Develop recommendations on new policies and processes that enhance CISA's ability to support stakeholder cyber defense capabilities.
  • Provide perspective on quantitative and qualitative data to help CISA leadership understand their users, identify challenges and initiate projects to explore innovative solutions to meet their needs.
  • Review, evaluate, compile, and analyze data to uncover issues, identify trends, and provide insights that drive CISA cyber services and capabilities strategy.
  • Creatively gather and package compelling customer feedback, research, and other data to develop insights to support leadership decision making.
Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Experience working within a federal agency or consulting firm providing facilitation, strategy, policy and evaluation of cybersecurity capabilities and services to these or similar Federal agencies.
  • Knowledge of current Federal cybersecurity policies, mandates (Cyber Executive Order etc.) and the impact on Federal agencies.
  • Experience working with Federal agency CISO organizations.
  • Knowledge of current cybersecurity issues facing Federal agencies and recent events (SolarWinds, Log4j) etc.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity programs, capabilities and services being used or considered to defend Federal agencies.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks including Mitre ATT&CK and Cyber Defense Matrix. Ability to leverage these or similar frameworks to identify and quantify areas of opportunity to assist Federal agencies.
  • Ability to develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and working with data to develop metrics that highlight successes and/ or areas for improvement.
  • 8+ years of professional design experience in an in-house, government or agency setting
  • A collaborative nature with excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, project-based environment
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines and navigate through ambiguity and competing priorities
  • Excellent attention to quality and detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power point
  • Experience collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams that include service and ux designers, data scientists, engineers, developers, project and program managers, and executive leaders
