The Senior Representative in Credit is critical to the company delivering that iconic customer experience by manually reviewing and decisioning credit applications that cannot be systematically decisioned.

What you will do

• Approve, condition, or deny credit applications using prescribed criteria based on company policy and procedures. Accurately and timely communicate decisions to CarMax stores via company systems to ensure compliance.
• Escalates accounts that fall outside of company policy.
• Handle incoming calls from CarMax store associates and customers to educate, answer questions, and/or independently resolve issues regarding credit application status and decisions.
• Assist with the timely and accurate processing of customer alerts in compliance with company guidelines.
• Perform above functions, as well as special projects as needed, within department metrics expectations and all State and Federal requirements.

Purpose of the role

The relationship between CarMax Auto Finance and the customer begins with the loan application process. Most applications are easily decisioned by cutting-edge, automatic system parameters - however, some may require special care and attention. That's where the
Credit Senior Representative steps in. In this role, you will be entrusted to exercise your attention to detail and decision-making skills to review and verify these applications. Naturally, this role caters to those who thrive when given the chance to analyze and solve issues, and doing so independently in a fast-paced, team-based environment. From verifying applications, , to resolving customer issues, you will balance the needs of the customer with opportunities and risks of the business.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or minimum 1-2 years of applicable experience
• Familiarity with credit bureau reporting and understanding of FICO scores
• Strong attention to detail and sound judgement/independent decision-making ability
• Exceptional communication skills - particularly in effectively influencing peers and business partners
• Basic to moderate computer knowledge and proficiency, especially in MS Office Suite and financial systems
