The Novelis Clayton team is seeking a Sr. Process Specialist-Finishing. This position is responsible for safely maintaining/overseeing the day-to-day finishing operations consisting of slitting/coating/packaging and mills/annealing. Provides expertise in the areas of quality, coating application, slitting and diagnoses of processes with the ability to modify/adjust processes as needed. Supports Management's efforts in improving quality, reducing costs and increasing recovery and throughput (Continuous Improvement/ World Class Manufacturing).
Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Ensures all Manufacturing area activities are consistent with all applicable Federal, State and local laws, EHS certifications, as well as Novelis policies and procedures
• Utilize the Novelis Safety Absolutes and Safety Principles to create a zero injury culture.
• Lead the implementation of processes that reveal safety hazards, and develops sustainable corrective actions. Lead and responsible for driving operational improvements with the team, including Associate Ops Leaders.
• Ensure that company policies and procedures are being executed by the team in order to ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Assist the Operations Leader and the CI Leader in identifying operational issues associated with metal quality from both the bare metal suppliers and internal processes.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the processes, systems, and equipment we utilize at the Clayton facility and provide Management with updated technologies and processes available in the industry.
• Develop and maintain a supportive working relationship with Production and Maintenance personnel to optimize improvement opportunities in Clayton processes. Lead loss eradication projects and new installations in the operations areas.
• Recommend, assist, and initiate studies and trials to identify and develop new, improved or lower cost processes in support of CI initiatives.
• Assist and/or initiate planning, specification and implementation of CAR / NCAR's/ AFE's .
• Lead and participate in the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) events as necessary to support operational improvements.
• Provides support as required to the operation by performing other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of proven leadership experience
• Be role model for leading and developing a positive, team-oriented culture
• Excellent leadership skills and good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to drive accountability
• Proficient in Computer Software - Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree or Technical Degree from an Accredited College
• 7+ years of manufacturing experience
• Experience with Lean and Continuous Improvement.

Location Profile

Built in 1970 the Clayton facility employs more than 100 people and engages in a re-rolling and finishing operation that supplies foil and light-gauge non-heat treatable aluminum coiled sheet and products including semi-rigid formed container stock HVAC standard and automotive fin stock pharmaceutical closure stock spiral duct stock and distribution.
