YOUR ROLE

Cambridge Consultants is a technical consultancy with hundreds of world-class engineers. We take on a large variety of challenging projects with a focus on delivering breakthrough innovations. As an embedded system architect, you will help create the next generation of medical devices ranging from electromechanical drug delivery systems to consumer health care and health monitoring applications, class C implants, and surgical robots including visualization and navigation systems. Each project is a new opportunity to learn and deliver.

DAY TO DAY YOU WILL

  • Lead medical systems development projects from concept definition to verification and validation and ultimately to delivery of medical grade products that meets the requirements.
  • Provide key technical input to project bid teams through understanding the client's requirements and translating those into deliverables that meet their needs
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to architect systems, lead risk assessment activities, and solve complex client needs
  • Lead and support internal efforts to develop new technology offerings and capabilities
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proven track-record of architecting and delivering successful safety critical medical systems
  • Experience of leading technical teams through the full development life cycle applying your working knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 14971 and IEC 62304
  • Experience using requirements management tools such as DOORs
  • Expert in embedded software development on bare metal and/or embedded RTOS systems.
  • Expert C programming skills.
  • Great communication and client-facing skills
  • A strong desire to learn and investigate new technologies
  • A minimum of a BS In Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or similar field
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

EVEN BETTER:
  • Previous experience in a consulting company
  • Experience with medical device connectivity and cybersecurity
  • Experience with wireless systems such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc.
  • Experience with software and system modelling with UML or SysML
  • Experience using source control (Git, Subversion) and familiarity with issue tracking systems (Jira, Gitlab)
  • Experience with robotics and/or motion control
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Gitlab
  • Embedded Linux kernels and drivers, device trees, and build systems experience
