Primary Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced practice assistant to support the Litigation practice in the Washington, DC office. Primary responsibilities include: assisting paralegals and attorneys in preparation for client meetings, depositions, hearings and trials; using LexisNexis or Westlaw to pull cases and cite-check briefs; generating various reports as requested; maintaining organization of all documents, files, and databases; updating and accurately indexing case files; and performing special duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a BA/BS degree, at least two years of legal administrative experience, be highly organized and motivated to follow through with assignments, have strong interpersonal skills and solid computer skills.
Proficiency with MS Word Office Suite programs is required. Experience with Relativity and/or Concordance is a plus. Candidates must have flexibility to work overtime, be a committed team player as well as a motivated self starter, be dependable and have the ability to work well under pressure while handling varied tasks within a busy legal environment. Punctuality, accuracy, attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills are essential. DC Notary required for some positions.
