Location: OR and WA -Salary: $92,185.00 to $115,232.00

Location: Boston, MA - Salary: $!06,013.00 to $132,517.00

Location: TX, Salary: $101,404.00 to $126,755.00

Come join a creative team of energy engineers and meteorologists who develop and optimize wind and solar plants. The Senior Solar Engineer/Meteorologist is responsible for solar resource and energy production assessments, assisting in solar plant design, and supporting R&D and tool automation. This position reports to the Director of Energy Resources and Meteorology.

In addition to strong conceptual and practical technical knowledge, the successful candidate will have a track-record of successfully managing priorities, excellent communication skills, and building positive relationships with key stakeholders

Responsibilities:

  • Calculate the energy production of solar plants throughout the pre-construction phase of development, utilizing PVsyst and Python-based tools.
  • Lead innovation. Develop script-based tools, utilizing Python and APIs, to enhance efficiency and accuracy of solar production modeling.
  • Support the design and optimization of utility-scale solar plants, working with interdisciplinary teams from project conception through construction and operation.
  • Maintain in-depth understanding of module, inverter, and tracker technology
  • Conduct irradiance tuning analyses comparing measured and long-term irradiance data.
  • Effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders, including global leadership, to advocate for projects and methodologies.

Experience / Education:
  • 3+ years of industry-relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (meteorology, physics, math, engineering, etc.); preference may be given to candidates with relevant advanced degree(s).
  • Understanding of solar energy modeling
  • Ability to generate new tools in Python

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Software requirements: PVsyst expertise, Python expertise, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Additional consideration will be given to candidates with both wind and solar resource assessment and energy production modeling experience.
