PayPal is seeking a high caliber, experienced and energetic professional to join our Legal Operations team. The Legal Operations team enables the legal department to serve their clients more effectively by providing strategic planning, financial management, project management, process optimization, outside counsel management and technology expertise that allows our legal team to focus on providing sought-after legal advice. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in a variety of cross-functional programs, initiatives, and processes - driving for innovative, simplistic, and scalable solutions that will benefit our legal community and the clients we serve. We are seeking a proven initiator and relationship-builder, who has experience in legal operations, process optimization, and employee engagement for a wide variety of business issues and challenges. This is a Legal Operations generalist role with a huge opportunity to make a big impact on our Legal team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with management of department operations, such as HR processes, new hire onboarding, communications, employee development programs, memberships, training, etc.
  • Support the implementation/roll-out of Company programs and practices to the function, promoting key leadership messaging.
  • Advise on the Legal team's budget planning as well as ongoing oversight of legal budget, including partnering with the Finance team to monitor budget constraints and actual performance against budgets and forecasts, identify spending trends, potential cost savings, and efficiency opportunities.
  • Coordinate legal department communications and lead employee engagement initiatives including monthly legal newsletter, Legal team All Hands, new hire onboarding program, and others
  • Provide support for special projects as requested to help transform inefficient legal processes and serve as the key partner across Legal to help bring their dreams to a reality. Support Senior Director of Legal Operations with various ad hoc projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to innovate and design employee-centric, scalable functional solutions to address identified and prioritized challenges and opportunities.
  • Use data, subject matter expertise, tools, and technology to design recommendations to new approaches to Legal processes, programs and/or initiatives.
  • Develop compelling stories, presentations, visualizations and summaries of data and information with a goal of helping stakeholders understand most salient details to make informed decisions.
  • Cultivate a strong feedback loop and partnership with both the Legal team and the Risk, Platform Services & Legal Business Operations function, and Human Resources.
  • Develop and maintain strong curiosity and awareness of Legal trends through internal and external benchmarking to help anticipate enablers that will further allow our Legal team to consistently deliver great legal advice.

Basic Qualifications
  • 7-10 years of experience om legal operations with some or all in corporate environments
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) with a focus in Business preferred.
  • Experience working with large, geographically dispersed team preferred.
  • Experience in project management; leading large-scale projects/programs, preferably in a Legal department or firm; understanding of full project lifecycle management.
  • Strong technical skills; proficient in all Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Project.
  • Working knowledge of corporate finance/budgeting practices.

New York City Only : The pay range for this position is as mentioned below per year, plus annual bonus. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary. All PayPal employees are shareholders in our Company, so equity is part of our total compensation plan. This role is also eligible for health insurance, stock purchase plans, retirement savings benefits, stock awards, life insurance and disability benefits, and paid time off for sick leave, parental leave, vacation and PTO.
