Position Summary

The Sr. Human Resource Manager is responsible for hiring, engaging, developing and retaining our diverse employee workforce. He/she will lead the client groups HR practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented; high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, and ongoing development. The Sr. HR Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of programs, processes, and metrics that support the achievement of the organization's business goals. Act as chief liaison to the client groups unit leaders, consulting with and guiding business decisions based on balanced business, people and HR best practices.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities

Culture & Engagement

  • Drive a positive culture, working closely with client groups and gaining credibility with the operational teams and employees through sound leadership, action, and positive contributions.
  • Owns the employee engagement aspect of the client groups by managing an employee engagement strategy and staying abreast of the pulse of the workplace; includes high visibility at the plant floor.

Compliance

  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal and state requirements; maintaining records and representing the organization at hearings as necessary and required.
  • Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with FMLA, LOA programs as well as consistent application of disciplinary actions and development of plans to reduce absenteeism.

Employee Communication

  • Support the design, develop, and roll out appropriate employee communications to socialize initiatives and share key messaging for client groups.

Employee Relations

  • Provide proactive solutions in employee relations that will set the tone for a healthy long-term relationship between leadership and employees.
  • Provide assistance in the interpretation of policies and procedures, resolution of employee relations issues, investigations, corrective or disciplinary actions, and employee separations.

HCM Systems

  • Support HCM systems development and implementation and provide user training as needed. Review and analyze data.

Performance Engagement

  • Provide leadership for the company's performance engagement processes.
  • Drive the performance engagement process as it relates to continues performance engagement discussions to drive a pay for performance culture.
  • Assist in the translation of the organizational goals into business unit SMART goals, relevant to the respective teams. Drive the process in partnership with the HRBP.
  • Ensure the design and implementation of career development tools, skills matrix development and processes for various levels across the client group.
  • Coach, develop and guide client groups to help build and maintain high-performing teams.

Talent Acquisition

  • Manages talent acquisition life cycle, including sourcing, interviewing, assessment instruments, background checks, job offers and relocation.
  • Assist in the development and deployment of a holistic, productive, and positive onboarding program and new hire experience.
  • Manages the relationship with contingent worker agencies; assures quantity and quality of temporary staffing to meet the needs of the client groups.

Training and Development

  • Support the development and delivery of leadership and professional development training programs, including legally required training; provide coaching and career development opportunities for leaders and employees.

Workforce Planning

  • Partner with client groups to set the operational plan to continue to scale the capability and capacity of the teams to service our growing and diverse workforce.
  • Become a spokesperson and go-to person for the client group on all things related to workforce planning.
  • Conduct regular and ongoing operational review meetings with leadership to review forecast and performance variance.

Team Development

  • Lead and manage the assigned business unit local HR team in a productive and cohesive manner.
  • Partner closely with talent acquisition, total rewards, organizational development and employee engagement team to support and drive the short- and long-term success of the business.
  • Build a healthy, respectful and inclusive culture on the team.

Project Management

  • Participate in and/or support projects and ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities within established constraints.

Professional Development

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

General

  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong HR Generalist Background; 10 plus years of broad-based professional experience with at least 8+ years in all aspects of HR management.
  • Manufacturing experience is required. The specific industry experience is not as important as the quality of the HR experience and organizations in your background.
  • Demonstrated success in applying fresh, creative thinking and a growth mindset to long-standing, complex challenges/problems resulting in high impact outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing business issues and providing scalable HR solutions that address & align to broader business requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience having difficult, nuanced conversations with clarity, empathy, and a focus on the employee experience.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as HCM platforms, preferably SAP SuccessFactors or Workday.
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze HR data and drive solutions or recommendations based on data insights
  • Strong systems-thinking ability.
