Role Overview

Our Senior Qualitative Insights Directors work with Account Managers (business development/client relationship owner) and Project Managers (logistics) to lead qualitative projects within the Life Sciences team. This position requires you to create and execute a wide range of insight-hunting research, business planning, and customer collaborations. The role will heavily involve qualitative moderating as well as leading and consulting with clients.

This role will involve 25% - 30% travel. This will mostly be domestic but could include international.

Responsibilities

Strategic Thought Leadership:

  • Develop creative & thoughtful study designs with account managers and project teams in support of client proposals
  • Innovate on qualitative approaches, methodologies and exercises that meet clients• evolving demands in a competitive market, including speed to insights and showcasing unique thinking
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior members of the qualitative research team, helping them develop their skills in research methodology, client management, and elevation of findings to actionable insights
  • Showcase therapeutic area expertise and exhibit depth of knowledge and passion in both formal and informal settings
  • Contribute to thought leadership, point-of-view pieces and our award-winning blog (escalent.co/thinking/blog)
Research Execution:
  • Skillfully moderate interviews and focus groups with patients and HCPs, ensuring smooth facilitation, insightful probing, and comprehensive data collection
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of large-scale qualitative engagements, both domestically and globally, from inception to fruition. Includes developing study materials, conducting fieldwork, leading debriefing sessions, crafting in-depth analysis/reports and delivering compelling presentations to clients
  • Quickly develop rapport and cultivate robust client relationships through adept management of expectations, adherence to timelines, proactive communication of project progress, and strategic guidance in client implications and decision-making
  • Independently learn new therapeutic areas and confidently converse in patient and HCP vernacular
Insights Development:
  • Author and deliver compelling storytelling narratives to embed insight and guidance into clients• hearts and minds
  • Effectively partner with creative teams to deliver interactive workshops, video documentaries and more to further socialize insights
Qualifications
  • MBA or Graduate degree in a healthcare-related focus is plus, though not required
  • Previous consulting/supplier-side experience in foundational insights and brand strategy is a must
  • Strong business acumen with a robust understanding of healthcare/pharmaceutical research, culture, health trends, patient and provider experience; diversity in category and Rx brands
  • Hands-on experience leading end-to-end qualitative market research projects; skilled in time management /leading and executing multiple workstreams at once
  • Must be a quick study and creative problem solver
  • Extensive experience moderating sensitive and insightful discussions with patients, caregivers/care partners, and healthcare professionals. This role requires demonstrated expertise conducting interviews in various settings, including in-homes, research facilities, offices, and online platforms to gain valuable insights and perspectives (RIVA, Burke, or Research Rockstar coursework/certification a plus)
  • Highly skilled storyteller capable of transcending raw data, with a demonstrated ability to weave global insights into a unified narrative to client stakeholders • both verbally and in compelling written deliverables
  • Success in this role hinges a great deal on soft skills, including collaboration, communication, empathy, perceptivity, a customer-forward mindset, and projecting a commanding leadership presence
  • Flexibility to work outside of typical business hours; ability to travel domestically and if needed, internationally. Travel expected to be around 25-30%
