An Experienced Import Logistics Individual who applies practical knowledge through advanced work experience and education. This position will need to be able to work independently and manage the daily operations associated with Import Transportation administration and processes. They will be required to facilitate and communicate end to end transportation of shipments with the ability to influence others in a timely and effectively manner. Oversees Customs documentation disbursement to accommodate timely release of merchandise.
Responsibilities:
  • Acts as a liaison between internal and external partners for shipment tracking
  • Close interface with origin and destination points to ensure shipment schedules are met, and assesses the impact of shipment delays on customers or operations
  • Responsible for providing, updating, and maintaining reports needed for tracking of all inbound shipments
  • Should have total understanding of all service levels and their importance as well as the billing structures laid out in the contracts
  • Assist in developing and overseeing department KPI's
  • Manage container free time to reduce demurrage/detention costs
  • Supports maintaining metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
  • In addition to the daily role, willing to accept special project and duties as assigned by management
  • Responsible for end to end tracking of Import containers to final destination
  • Daily Management of Dray Operations for multiple ports
  • Reviewing and Monitoring Customs Clearances / releases
  • Proficient in Excel (formulas, and pivot tables)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, problem solve, and multitask in a high pressure and quick decision making environment
  • Strong operational skills and acute attention to detail, including the ability to independently mange the day to day operations
  • Ability to work flexible hours during peak season
  • Knowledge of Import Terminology
  • Minimum of 2 years Import / Export Transportation Experience
