Position Summary:

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (SHRBP) role is a strategic and proactive partner to business

leaders to help achieve business goals. This role will cultivate relationships with leaders and employees at all

of our facilities. The SHRBP is accountable for ensuring that all HR issues within their assigned functions are

addressed. The SHRBP is the first point of contact for employee relations questions or concerns from both

managers and employees and must be able to handle the unexpected. The SHRBP will be expected to coach

the management team in the professional delivery of performance/conduct processes using company tools,

while maintaining a controlled, respectful, and professional demeanor. The SHRBP will help develop and

facilitate training for managers and employees to help further company goals and objectives to be best in class.

This position will also partner with managers to ensure they receive the necessary tools to succeed while

fostering continuous improvement throughout each business area.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a strategic business partner for Senior Leaders to give HR support and guidance in the

achievement of business goals and objectives while maintaining strong employee engagement.

  • Builds strong and trusting relationships with the business leaders built on credibility and open

communication. Works closely with leadership and employees to improve work relationships, build

morale, increase productivity and retention.

  • Provides Human Resources related advice and efficient service to managers on a day-to-day basis for

employee relations questions and performance management issues.

  • Effectively manages complex employee relations issues. Coaches and assists employees and

managers with employee relations issues. Partners with managers in the creation of Record of

Conversations (ROCs) and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) when appropriate. Coaches

managers to conduct detailed, factual employee relations conversations, keeps all documentation

organized and filed, and works with the manager to ensure timely follow-up occurs. Collaborates with

other HR team members as it relates to each functional HR area impacted by an employee concern or

issue.

  • Supports and trains the performance management process (goal creation, progress reviews and

one-on-ones) for the company to support employee engagement, growth and development.

  • Conducts assessments to determine developmental/training needs for people leaders, individual

contributors and new employees in order to create development programs that result in desired

outcomes.

  • Develops and facilitates effective training programs using a variety of effective communication mediums

to enhance skill sets, employee retention and engagement.

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of learning and development programs through observation, testing and

auditing; makes recommendations designed to enhance outcomes, employee engagement, and

learning experiences.

  • Partners with the HR Manager and outside legal counsel on complex employee issues to best manage

the situation while mitigating risk. Constructively challenge decisions which are not in the

best interest of the company.

  • Partners with managers to maintain and develop an accurate and up-to-date library of job descriptions

by role, while working to streamline job titles within the company.

  • Understands policies and procedures, as well as workplace regulations and assesses how they

pertain to particular employee relations situations. Proactively partners with the HR team when a policy

needs to be reconsidered or revised.

  • Maintains current knowledge of Federal and State laws and statutes and partners with management

and employees and the HR team to ensure compliance.

  • Participates in administrative functions that support the Human Resources department in order to

maintain accurate HR record keeping

  • Strong communication skills to work with a variety of individuals, from skilled labor to professional level

positions.

  • Ability to maintain composure when the pressure is high and be nimble to adjust priorities as needed.
  • Be solution-oriented when faced with challenges and have the ability to influence others.
  • Collaborative partner to the business and able to help prioritize business needs within current work.
  • Be effective in presenting virtually and in-person while helping to teach and train others.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Learning & Development or equivalent HR work experience required. Master's degree in HR a plus.
  • Human Resources certification preferred (SPHR, SHRM-SCP).
  • 8+ years of experience in HR required with the previous four years as an HRBP.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of State and Federal employment regulations and laws.
  • Ability to be helpful and service-oriented, have an ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and able to be discreet when dealing with confidential information.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, multi-tasking and prioritizing work.
  • Significant experience with Google Office and/or Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, Mac experience a plus.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and LinkedIn Learning a plus.
