This position will be responsible for the development, support, financial analysis, and execution of pricing strategies and promotional programs that will support profit and market share goals. It collaborates with cross functional teams and team members to identify issues and create solutions.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:

Pricing:

  • Develop and ensure continuous improvement of pricing tools and policies.
  • Drive toward strategic pricing objectives, identify upside opportunities, analyze significant pricing moves, and work with others to optimize key market pricing decisions
  • Generate report(s) that will enhance the view of current market offering, margins, quantity sold, product support cost, competitive bid, sales rebate, floor-plan interest expense and any of applicable variable that will enable our ability to improve financial reward
  • Research and conduct in-depth pricing analysis of industry competitors, influencers, market trends, and drivers. Proactively identify opportunities or challenges to improve profit via adjustment in brand mix & net pricing
  • Create various financial models and ad hoc reports to review profitability, market trends and competitive modeling

Programs:
  • Interact cross functionally in defining administrative controls and requirements, performing program projections and trend analysis, and identifying and communicating program issues
  • Reconcile the marketing programs balances
  • Administer and monitor promotions for all product groups
  • Create new and run ad hoc reports
  • Audit, approve, and process promotional claims and terms in a timely and accurate manner
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal personnel regarding program details
  • Develop and document procedures and processes
  • Assist in program expense projections and monthly account reconciliations
  • Support the fiscal year-end close process as required
  • Provide financial analysis and evaluation of marketing programs as required
  • Review and approve and process deviations
Other:
  • Utilize resources to resolve issues while providing leadership to various cross functional teams and team members.
  • Train and provide functional mentorship to more junior team members.
  • Perform other duties and projects as requested.
  • Work in conjunction with Product Management to create, track, and maintain pricing strategies, including segment strategies for each market and distribution channel

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Accounting, finance or business degree preferred.
  • 5 or more years of progressive experience in the field or in a related area that requires analytical and reporting skills.
  • High competence in Excel and SAP (or ERP software) required. QlikView and Salesforce experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage, analyze, and process large amounts of data to arrive at required outputs with accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to recommend creative, out of the box solutions.
  • Possess the ability to translate business questions into the appropriate analysis and deliver insights from this analysis.
  • Exceedingly well organized, detailed, accurate, flexible, and enjoys the challenges of working with a diverse set of people and programs.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to team with and provide leadership to the business. Ability to be straight forward and candid while remaining professional.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures preferred.
