The Senior Designer reports to the Senior Director of Design Services, and is located in Tampa, FL.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Designer is responsible for design, draft layouts, and drawings, including assemblies and systems for customer specifications. This position is also responsible for source control drawings, sketches, models prototypes or verbal instructions for both new and existing product design.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Review customer source control drawings, specifications control drawings, and other applicable specifications to determine requirements and/or feasibility or product
    • Draw rough sketches and perform mathematical computations to develop design and work out detained specifications of components
    • Conduct preliminary and advanced work in development of working layouts of final master drawings, adequate for detailing part of units of design and new proposals and current designs
    • Critical thinking capacity, using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems; resolve drawing/document issues
    • Complex problem-solving capabilities to identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
    • Attend design reviews as required
    • Work with client and/or sales rep to determine and finalize specifications and design intent
    • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

    COMPETENCIES:

    • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to work within tight scheduled, deadlines and budgets, and the capacity to succeed in an environment of rapidly changing priorities
    • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to select best solutions and solve problems
    • Excellent interpersonal skills leading to effective communication and interaction
    • Possess strong conceptual and strategic thinking skills
    • Must have superior technical design skills

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior design, Industrial design, or related field
    • 7+ years' experience in a professional design environment/department, food-service design preferred
    • Supervisory experience preferred
    • Advanced computer skills including AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Suite preferred
