Your role:
You will be joining the Data Science for Life Science team, as part of the Life Science Analytics Center of Excellence. We develop internal and external facing data science solutions to drive machine learning and optimization projects across all business units, e.g., R&D, supply chain, sales, and others.
The Senior Data Scientist is expected to play an active role in developing, implementing, and managing our data & analytics tools. This includes tasks such as stakeholder management, presentation of results, coordination of work packages for the project team and the implementation of both backend and frontend solutions. You are expected to have a good understanding of cutting-edge data science methods, expert knowledge in modern software development and the ability to deploy complex software architectures on a modern data and analytics platform. You will give guidance, consult less experienced colleagues, and share your knowledge throughout the team and the company. Working together with our machine learning engineers & data scientists, business stakeholders, product owners and data stewards on a day-to-day basis, you will be able to develop and grow. Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master or Ph.D. in Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering or a related quantitative field
  • At least 2 years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Solid skills in Machine Learning, Statistics and Predictive Modelling
  • Strong programming skills, e.g. Python, Spark, TypeScript
  • You know how to leverage best practices (e.g. CI/CD, Unit Testing, Git-based version control) when shipping software
  • Prior experience with cloud-based development on AWS is beneficial
  • Ability to work with people from various backgrounds/cultures
  • Strong communication skills with the desire to share knowledge and skills
  • Ability to think outside the box and a pragmatic way of working
