Top Reasons to Work with Us We are currently hiring for a Senior Estimator Structures focus. We are seeking talented individuals to join our team. This position will prepare portions of contract proposal estimates, for structural items including walls, including the interpretation and takeoff of project plans and specifications to complete a full estimate of the work.
What You Will Be Doing Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
Prepare structures estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work
Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.
Utilize HCSS estimating software to develop a comprehensive project estimate
Communicate with vendors in support of quotations
May review design options and recommend best solutions based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials
Perform additional assignments per supervisors direction
What You Need for this Position Qualifications
5 years of estimating experience and/or related training with large highway projects is required
Experience with concrete bridge structures including but not limited to concrete substructures (drill shafts, concrete footings, concrete columns, concrete caps, beam setting, and bridge decks). This is for all bridge types including direct connectors, single to multiple span bridges.
Experience with all wall types MSE, cast in place, drill shaft walls and soil nail walls.
Working knowledge of TxDOT standards and special provision is preferred
Proficient experience with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) is required
HCSS Heavy Bid experience and/or related software for pricing work is required
Building and managing a CPM schedule on projects is preferred
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, or Construction Management is preferred
