Meet the team:

The Senior Accountant role will be critical to the success of the General Ledger team and will support the rapid growth of our business. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting, the Senior Accountant will support various areas of general ledger accounting, including lease accounting, monthly close, reconciliations, analysis and reporting, process and procedure improvements, and system implementations.

Where you come in:

  • Supports the Company's lease accounting process, including preparing lease classification analyses; holding monthly meetings with various stakeholders to identify new leases and updates to existing leases; entering, modifying and maintaining lease information within the Company's lease software; preparing monthly journal entries and reconciliations; preparing schedules for financial reporting and audit purposes; and working with key stakeholders to determine proper accounting for leases.
  • Supports the Company's monthly close process, including preparing monthly journal entries, performing GL account reconciliations, performing data analysis and researching transactions for proper accounting treatment, preparing financial reports, completing rapid period-end closings and meeting all required deadlines.
  • Coordinate and hold inter- and intra-department meetings to obtain status updates and identify, discuss and determine proper accounting for a variety of accounting issues.
  • Supports financial and SOX audits, including preparation of documentation, workpapers and reports to support audit inquiries from internal and external auditors.
  • Displays a continuous improvement mindset, analyzing current processes and identifying, recommending and implementing process and procedural improvements.
  • Participates in various departmental projects, including but not limited to system implementations, integrations and transactional accounting.
  • Supports budgeting and forecasting activities, including preparing and updating reports and data files.
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with colleagues across the Company.
  • Maintains current knowledge of GAAP and other accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What makes you successful:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in accounting or related field.
  • 5-8 years of related corporate accounting experience with increasing responsibilities in a large public company and/or Big 4 National Public Accounting Firm.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, especially lease accounting standards.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of Oracle or other large ERP.
  • Effective communication, analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic high-performance environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure of deadlines and commit to overtime as necessary.
  • Desire to learn and grow in the role, and willingness to accept and incorporate feedback.
  • Ability to self-manage with little instruction.
  • Demonstrate ownership of high-quality work product with documented self-review.
  • Knowledge of Tableau and FCCS is desirable.
  • Knowledge of data analytics tools.

Experience and Education:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 - 8 years of related experience.

Travel Required
  • 15-25%

Flex Workplace: Your primary location will be a home office. You will not have an assigned workstation and will work with your manager to determine office visit needs. You must live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km).
