Job Title: Security Systems/ Alarm Technician (NARA II)K

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Security Systems/Alarm Technician in College Park, MD for the National Archives in College Park, MD. This is an IBEW, Local 26 position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of personnel in this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Analyzing various control systems and making modifications to upgrade these systems, so as to improve the overall reliability and efficiency of the subsystems as a whole;
    • Diagnosing, testing and repairing any malfunctioning instruments and controls, on site or in the workshop;
    • Assisting in the investigation of major equipment failures where instrumentation or controls may be involve associated equipment or functions
    • Installing new equipment/ instruments and following through to make the system operational
    • Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics and manufacturer's instructions; and if needed, tracing control wiring and drawing ladder diagrams
    Qualifications:
    • Service personnel will have five (5) years experience in the inspection, testing, and maintenance of security systems.
    • Personnel responsible for the overall operations and maintenance of the Card Access Control Systems will be factory trained and certified, in a classroom environment with "hands on" experience.
    • Personnel will be proficient with both the application software and operating system, and be able to make changes or comply with other reasonable requests quickly.
    • Must have Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance
    • Must fluently speak, read and write the English language
    Personnel assigned to this position must meet one or more of the following requirements:
  • Must be factory trained and certified for security system service for Honeywell ProWatch Physical Access Control System (PACS), Pelco CCTV system, DMP Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and Master Mind monitoring interface
  • Certified by a nationally recognized certification organization acceptable to the authority having jurisdiction
  • Registered, licensed, or certified by a state or local authority; and
  • Employed and qualified by an organization listed by a nationally recognized testing laboratory for the servicing of security systems.
