The Scrap Coordinator Backup reports to the Quality Supervisor but receives daily direction by the Scrap/Recovery Lead. They will have shared responsibility of reporting, transacting and unloading scrap carts. They will coordinate scrap and recovery activities including but not limited to: assigning tasks to recovery team, training and coaching, material inspection and communication with Quality Supervisor and Operations Team.
II. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Scrap Coordinator Lead Backup duties and responsibilities:
As a backup, the employee will need to be prepared to complete any of the tasks below at all times, but will not always be performing as a Lead.
Regular tasks:
• Perform material inspection to determine reason for rejection.
• Ensure accurate reporting of scrap item quantities and reasons; enter items into JDE system.
• Unstack and palletize scrap material.
• Ensure issues observed are documented and reported to the Quality Manager.
• Coordinate material inspection with Quality Auditor, as needed.
• Maintain accuracy of MRB material and work towards reducing MRB Quantities.
• Ensure appropriate disposal of material not repairable.
• Coordinate Scrap Cart Return with Operations team and ensure full coverage at all times.
Lead Activities:
• Oversee the Scrap Recovery Team, as needed.
• Ensure necessary tools are available for Recovery Team and communicate if that is not the case.
• Assign Recovery work activities to all Recovery employees.
• Communicate to all individuals effectively. (Directors, Managers, Supervisors and Production Team)
• Participate in team meetings as required (Safety, Quality and Production)
• Coordinate Overtime for task completion as needed.
• Train and develop new and experienced recovery employees.
• Assist in the continuous growth of the Scrap/Recovery Department.
• Other duties as assigned.
