Your Role:

Responsibilities include being the primary scientific resource for Product Characterization Analytical Laboratory, in charge of the scientific integrity of technical work performed in Biologics, ensuring current regulatory requirements are met and the technical & regulatory needs of internal and external clients are appropriately met, effectively interpreted and then communicated to the client, performing analysis of testing performed within the Product Characterization Analytical Laboratory.

  • Performs testing in accordance with SOPs and regulations (cGMP and GLP)
  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) for specific defined area(s) of BioReliance business
  • Applies laboratory techniques and skills to complete experiments designed to address a variety of specific problems
  • Independently applies basic scientific principles in the design of experiments and the development of assays
  • Maintains complete and comprehensive records for study integrity
  • Operates and maintains lab equipment as required by SOPs and testing procedures
  • Creates/ revises SOPs, laboratory records and other related documentation as assigned
  • Utilizes applicable computer programs during testing and routine tasks (i.e., Word, Excel, Oracle, LIMS, BRIQS, etc.)
  • Performs training of laboratory personnel as needed/ assigned
  • Liaise closely with client representatives to ensure their expectations are met or exceeded. This should include input into technical design of new analytical assays and ongoing scientific and regulatory support throughout these projects / programs.
  • Lead assay development/ assay transfer and assay validation activities
  • Participate in event / lab investigations within Biologics
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within Biologics; act as champion on initiatives and/or projects to drive improvement in quality and / or client service

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in scientific discipline (i.e., Chemistry, Biochemistry, etc.) with 1+ years workinglaboratory experience-OR -
  • Master's degree in scientific discipline (i.e., Chemistry, Biochemistry, etc.) with 2+ years working laboratory experience - OR -
  • Bachelor's degree in scientific discipline (i.e., Chemistry, Biochemistry, etc.) with 5+ years working laboratory experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with some or all of the following technical disciplines:
    • Capillary Electrophoresis Methods (CE-SDS, cIEF)
    • Liquid Chromatography (HPLC and UPLC)
    • Mass Spectrometry - performing the following tests:
      • Intact Molecular weight
      • Peptide mapping
      • Glycan Profiling
      • N-/C-Terminal Sequencing
