We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) I to potentially support the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Technical and Analytical Support Services (TASS) multiple-award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quality (IDIQ). This position is a contingent position that is subject to a federal contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical expertise with ongoing programs to include input at program reviews, site visits, demonstrations, and other events; provide recommendations to mitigate technical risk and potential program impact of failure; provide independent assessments of results of laboratory and other tests conducted by the performers.
  • Providing SME support as needed in scientific reviews to include providing input as to the technical strengths and weaknesses of Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) proposals.
  • Providing technical input as required into the R&D Descriptive Summaries (RDocs), Congressional Staffer Briefings, and other related inquiries from outside agencies.
  • Plan, coordinate, and assist with testing and/or demonstrations to support the objectives of the program. This support will include working with performers, government collaborators, and test ranges to develop test configurations, other requirements, and detailed test plans. This support will also include participation in the development of accomplishment criteria for Contractor Test Readiness Reviews.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required in a scientific field with 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have a Secret clearance.
  • Experience in technical, managerial or scientific fields and have expert credentials or be recognized as an authority and have the mature judgement required to advise senior government personnel.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required. Experience with basic and applied research and prior experience as a DARPA Program Manager or senior SETA contractor is highly desirable.
  • Experience managing R&D programs from inception to closeout is also highly desirable. Individual will have demonstrated ability to make decisions independently on R&D engineering problems and methods, in resolving important questions, and planning and coordinating work.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of advanced techniques, theories, precepts, and practices in a scientific or technological discipline.
