Job Summary: The Safety Monitor promotes leadership and helps support the
Bay Cove mission and addresses community concerns in a proactive and professional manner. Welcoming clients, Staff and
Guests to Bay Cove Human services by providing a positive, professional and
respectful presence always. Serves as a community diplomat and represents Bay Cove Human Services as a good neighbor and responsive community partner. It is the job of Bay Cove Safety Monitors, as unarmed employees to support our mission in our day-to-day responsibilities as indicated below:

Essential Functions of
Position:

  • Regularly
    patrols front of building, parking lot, halls, stairways and egresses to ensure
    a safe and calm environment for the interior and exterior of the building,
    contacting emergency services as needed.
  • Ensures that
    all staff, guests and clientele are respectfully, safely and efficiently given
    access to the entrance of the building
  • Enforces
    the rules of the Bay Cove Human Services Programs assisting in crisis
    situations when called on using good judgement, communication skills,
    de-escalation techniques, and contacts emergency services as
    needed
  • Completes
    and submits to the Director of Safety and Director of the assigned location,
    incident reports in a timely manner for any incident that indicates a Safety Breach
    or risk to the building, or its inhabitants.
  • Works
    assigned schedule including holidays and weekends
  • Attends
    required training, meetings
  • Communicates
    in real time with identified on-site program, supervisory staff
  • Performs
    other duties as assigned by Director of
    Safety Dept.

Requirements for the position:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations
  • Experience with de-escalation techniques or crisis interventions

Characteristics:
  • Must be able to work with a diverse population in a respectful,
    compassionate and supportive manner.
Physical
Requirements:
  • Must be able to provide & Pass a Covid -19 negative Test.
    within 72 hours of hire date.

    (Test Will be provided free of charge) PPE:
    will be provided.
  • Must frequently lift/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to use specific visual abilities required include
    close vision and peripheral vision.
  • Must be able to stand, walk and talk or hear.
  • Must be able to direct, handle, feel or reach with hands and arms.

  • Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and assist
    with operating the wheelchair lift.
Dress Code
  • Employee
    will be provided with clothing to identify them as Safety Monitor.
    Garmentswinter jacket and rain coat
    will be provided and need to be returned at the end of the shift.Employee is required to wear tan color khaki
    pants and proper Black color shoes.
