Basic Job Functions:
The responsibilities of Safety Engineer include but are not limited to: Maintaining the Safety, Health Management Systems (SHMS); Interacting with all Division teammates to ensure plant understanding of and compliance with federal, state and local regulations; Developing, organizing and delivering safety training; Compiling, reviewing and reporting injury/illness statistics and OSHA 300 logs; Monitoring contractor safety programs/performance, workers' compensation and industrial health program; Participating in Division and company safety activities, initiatives and audits; Reviewing, developing and authoring safety, equipment and operating policies/procedures and managing plant security.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
