The Rooms Division Manager in Training (MIT) will work to understand the Rooms Division Department by performing assigned projects and responsibilities throughout various departments including the Front Office, Housekeeping, Gift shop to achieve successful operation and administration of the whole department under the guidance and tutelage of the Director of Rooms and other pertinent leaders designated to the specific functions. The ideal candidate will have a combination of education, and training/experience that provides the required skills to assist and learn how to lead the departments by accomplishing training tasks and upholding Shaner and hotel policies and procedures, responding to and resolving of guest complaints.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with immediate supervisor and/or training representative to create a personal job training schedule tailored to the trainees education, aspirations, and previous work background.
  • Reviews training outline with the department Director/ manager of each assignment to ensure optimum training opportunities.
  • Engages in assigned training projects.
  • Prepares and presents written reports for department managers and training representative on each phase of training.
  • Participates in frequent performance reviews.
  • Actively participates in trainee development meetings and/or conferences.
  • As required, enrolls in applicable courses at the Marriott Global Service and Shaner provided training.
  • Acts in the place of absent associate if necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

In this position, we are seeking for a visionary growing leader with;
  • Bachelors degree, associate degree or satisfactory work experience.
  • Proven desire to expand knowledge and understanding of the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective listening skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and ability to quickly adapt new software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to engage and provide feedback to the leaders, colleagues and collaborate with other departments of the hotel on a daily basis in accordance with the standards of Shaner Hotels and applicable franchise.
