Job Description:


Responsible to the Assistant Dean of Students (Residence Life & Student Safety) and for department-wide administrative management. This is a full-time 11 month position.


Administrative:


  • Authority for and management of budget and overall residence life programming funds.
  • Participate in staff and professional development meetings both in Residence Life and Student Development.
  • Coordinate the dispersion and collection of student keys from area coordinators.
  • Organize area move-in/beginning of the year check-in and year-end checkout processes.
  • Coordinate residence life early arrivals and late stay requests.
  • Serve on departmental and college committees as requested.
  • Coordinate summer student and intern housing program: hire, train, and supervise resident advisors; student billing; move-in and move-out.

On-Call/Emergency response:


  • Create and manage student staff on-call and on-duty schedules.
  • Participate in Student Development on-call schedule.
  • Participate in emergency response and crisis intervention as required.
  • Work with at-risk students to refer to proper resources.
  • Coordinate vacation schedule with other Residence Life staff.

Student Conduct:


  • Educate area students on community conduct standards.
  • Enforce campus policies concerning student behavior.
  • Conduct investigative and administrative conferences.
  • Coordinate sanction completion for College-wide sanctions.

Community Building:


  • Create weekly social interactions in each residential area with the Student Hall Director staff.
  • Facilitate all area programming.
  • Facilitate roommate mediations and room changes.
  • Create and facilitate Residence Life's social media presence on relevant platforms.


Requirements:


  • Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling or related field preferred.
  • Three years of Student Development experience required, previous residence life experience preferred.
  • Evidence of strong administrative, team building, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to manage multiple tasks is necessary.
  • Ability to work with students, faculty and staff representing diverse backgrounds and interests.
  • On campus residence is required, in a two bedroom apartment.
  • A meal plan is provided while school is in session.
