Research Technician

Pay Range: $15.00 per hour or higher depending on experience

Full/Part Time: Full Time

Position Summary:
The research technician position will analyze protein activity and protein interactions in yeast cells. Duties include overall lab maintenance (maintaining lab media and supplies) and conducting experiments.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Degree or GED

• Collecting and recording data following pre-established procedures or protocols
• Using a computer to organize data for analysis
• Working in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in field of biological sciences
• One year of research experience
• Experience with research lab operations and organization
• Experience working with bacterial or yeast cultures
• Ability to execute and complete tasks on time
• Experience with molecular biology procedures including; PCR, qRT-PCR, bacterial transformation and culture, plasmid purification, cloning
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with protein purification or protein mutagenesis
• Experience with protein techniques, such as SDS-PAGE gels, immunoblots, immunoprecitation
• Experience working on independent research project(s)
