GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT: Summarize the nature and level of work performed.

Working under the general supervision of a Principal Investigator (PI), Clinical Research Assistants will be conducting the study procedures for multiple investigational clinical trials within the field of pain management.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Indicate key areas of responsibility, major job duties, special projects and key objectives for this position. These items should be evaluated throughout the year and included in the written annual evaluation.

Clinical Research Assistants will be responsible for screening and recruiting human subjects; filling out and uploading study data; collecting biological samples and questionnaires; contacting and scheduling follow-up appointments with study subjects; collaborating with physicians and other hospital staff to facilitate successful study procedures. Research assistants can be trained to perform basic laboratory and clinical work, such as setting up ECG's, taking vital signs, drawing blood, and reading electronic medical records. Works under multiple PIs across multiple current and upcoming clinical trials

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: (MUST be realistic, neither overstated nor understated, and related to the essential functions of the job.)

Bachelor of Art/Science required. Research Experience desired but not required.

SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: (MUST be realistic, neither overstated nor understated, and related to the essential functions of the job.)

• Excellent organization skills, with strict attention to detail

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to relate and communicate well with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and administrators

• Ability to prioritize and multi-task is essential

• Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)

• Ability to record data and maintain meticulously organized physical/online records

• Ability to work and excel under deadlines in a demanding clinical research environment

• Experience with laboratory/clinical techniques NOT required, but preferred
