Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting a Regulatory Technician in Kenedy, Texas.

U.S. Only: Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Prepare and file forms (APD forms, Sundry notices etc.) for state and federal regulatory agencies as required
  • Maintain well files and ensure all submitted and approved permits are filed appropriately
  • Provide support as needed to regulatory staff for all compliance issues
  • Manage systems to support regulatory compliance requirements (spud notifications, drilling reports, completions reports, well status reports, inactive well tests)
  • Compile data required to gain approvals for recompletion, plug and abandon, and downhole commingling
  • Prepare workover rig notice of intents and subsequent reporting
  • Monitor daily drilling and production activity to ensure compliance with approved permits and initiate action for compliance
  • Finalize government approvals for operational and drilling activities
  • Maintain well files and ensure all submitted and approved permits are filed appropriately
  • Provide support as needed to regulatory staff for all compliance issues
  • Knowledge of WellView, Avocet, and Generwell
  • Enable professional staff to work more efficiently by accurately managing critical information through database input, manipulation and analysis
  • Receive information through correspondence with internal and external parties and select appropriate data for entry
  • Mine information from other databases for compilation into a single database
  • Request information from internal and external sources for entry into databases
  • Prepare reports and presentations suitable for management
  • Properly store data and reports for future reference
  • Strategize with professional staff to optimize the methods of obtaining and entering data
  • Develop and implement training and mentoring of analysts or professionals in the use of various databases
  • Accountable for timely submittal of required federal, state and local agency reports
  • Maintain access rights to various databases as organizational changes occur
  • Troubleshoot databases to ensure outputs are accurate and complete
  • Network across the company to understand possible commonalities and efficiencies in data management


Skills / Qualifications

Qualifications

Basic/Required:
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • 3+ years of oil and gas industry experience
  • 1+ years of regulatory experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong understanding of oil and gas rules and processes


Preferred:
  • Good understanding of Upstream Oil and Gas Operations including downhole operations, completion designs, wellbore schematics etc
  • Proficiency with data analytics and visualization tools (ie Spotfire)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well autonomously or in a team setting
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments.
  • Builds strong relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to best support the business
  • Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
  • Listens actively and invites dialogue for shared understanding, then influences and acts to drive performance and achieve results
