CUMULUS MEDIA | (Atlanta, GA) has an immediate, fully remote opening for an experienced Regional Finance Director to lead a team of finance professionals supporting a region of local radio markets. This role will lead various finance functions for the region including forecasting, budgeting, financial statement analysis and regional collection efforts. Additionally, the role will be responsible for suggesting and implementing policies and procedures to optimize efficiency. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Finance and works closely with the CAO and other finance, accounting, and company leadership to provide key support to the Radio Station Management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) efforts for the region's local radio markets - including annual budgets and bi-weekly forecasting.
  • Provide the Radio Station Management team with information that enhances their understanding of financial results (including analysis of variances); identify and research trends in financial statements and recommend solutions to address any problem areas.
  • Support the Radio Station Management team while providing excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Evaluate current processes and suggest, implement, and refine policies and procedures to optimize efficiencies related to finance activities.
  • Manage, train, and develop two Regional Finance Managers - ensure the team is informed, supported, and has all resources necessary to perform their duties exceptionally.
  • Oversee regional radio market collection efforts; monitor aged receivables and unapplied credits.
  • Calculate monthly regional sales commissions and submit commission and bonus payments to Corporate Payroll. Reconcile market gross wages to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure certain accrual accounts are appropriately stated and assist the GL Team with associated balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Approve invoices and recurring payments (along with GL coding) for the region.
  • Monitor and administer monthly trade accounting functions.
  • Review and submit internal and external audit requests.
  • Partner with IT to assist with financial system implementations and upgrades.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field required; CPA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience required.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.
  • Process-oriented, with strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills/
  • Develop strong working relationships with colleagues across departments and levels; honesty, integrity, and collaborative attitude are critical
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to operate in fast-paced, changing environment
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of business systems such as Microsoft Office, WideOrbit Traffic & Billing System, Workday, Adaptive Planning/Great Plains
