Matrix Providers is potentially hiring a Recreational Therapist to join our team of talented professionals who provide healthcare services to our Military Service Members and their families in Bethesda, Maryland.

  • Employment Status: Full time
  • Compensation: This is a salaried position, paid bi-weekly
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:30 AM-4:30 PM

Requirements: The Recreational Therapist must have and meet the following:
  • Degree: Bachelors Degree.
  • Education: Graduate in therapeutic recreation or recreational therapy from an accredited college or university.
  • Certification: Current certification as a Recreational Therapist from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
  • Experience: One year of experience as a Recreational Therapist after graduation.
  • Licensure/Registration: Must possess at a minimum a current valid license to legally practice in one of the 50 states in the United States, or the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. Territory.
Job Summary:
  • Develop treatment plans designed to restore, remediate and rehabilitate a persons level of functioning and independence in life activities, to promote health and wellness as well as reduce or eliminate activity limitations and restrictions to participate in life situations caused by an illness or disabling condition.
  • Develop and implement individual recreation programs based on assessment results.
  • Teach, coach, and support as required.
  • Work with multidisciplinary treatment teams to evaluate and review patient care.
  • Provide individual consultation to staff as requested.
  • Develop presentations to staff on recreational opportunities.
