The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC) is located in the Southwestern Alaska town of Bethel, with a total of approximately 6,000 people. YKHC supports 1500 employees, providing the health services to a primarily Yup'ik Eskimo Native population for an area the size of Oregon. Services are provided through a Bethel located hospital and 50 clinics throughout the YK Delta.
Position Summary:
The RAVEN Nurse Informatics (RNII) is an expert in human factors, patient safety, and the use of technology to optimize care delivery processes and effectively communicate patient care activity. The RNII specialist is responsible for effective process design, development, and implementation of the RAVEN and Clinical Decision Support. This role supports pharmacists, nurses, and other clinicians as the resource for requests related to PowerChart changes and additions. The RNII demonstrates independent decision making as appropriate in evaluation of requests for system improvements and determines feasibility and advisability of system changes. The RNII works closely with clinicians, departmental leadership, Quality, Patient Safety, Accreditation and Licensure Departments and Information Systems staff to clarify needs, prioritize requests, design workflow to fit with electronic systems, execute change, and facilitate adaptation to the RAVEN. The RNII may serve as the primary RAVEN instructor for new and existing nurses. The RNII will be required to work 2 shifts a month in the inpatient or emergency department setting. The RNII may be expected to complete other duties as assigned by the RAVEN Administrator.
