Description:
Assists the Radiation Oncologist in preparing the patient for radiation therapy treatments. Under the supervision/direction of the radiation physicist and oncologist, gives radiation therapy treatments. Documents in daily logs the correct dosages utilized. Ages of patients served range in age from adult to geriatric.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must be on the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (T), and Iowa Department of Public Health Permit to Practice
2. Must be a Registered Radiation Therapist
3. Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire.
4. The Radiation Therapist: must know basic patient care skills, operation of oxygen equipment, radiation therapy treatment equipment, record and verify system, Linear Accelerator Unit, simulation and block preparation skills.
5. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
6. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
