Position Overview

Role Overview:Assist in leading the process quality assurance function, working closely with Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to ensure that all manufacturing operations are capable of providing materials and services that satisfy customer requirements.

Provide focused quality engineering support within production departments of the Business Management System. Function as the plant's Business Management System SME, ensuring that the BMS conforms to management system standards in a manner that helps us more effectively run our business, reporting on its performance to management on a recurring basis, and providing training to the workforce in this area.

Responsible for assignment of quality requirements using auditing and risk-based decision-making techniques, including assessing gauge techniques and competency, writing quality plans, and coordinating technical requirements with appropriate groups. Assist in managing the manufactured product portion of the non-conforming process, ensuring that appropriate root cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented and quality data is trended and reported upon on a routine basis.

Assist in learning World Class Manufacturing. Apply the tools learned to help the plant reach zero losses, one system to manage the business, and one hundred percent engagement of the workforce.
Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Practical implementation of systems and procedures for meeting ISO standards
• Oversee plant-auditing process. Review and perform routine and in-process audits in accordance with ISO standards. Ensure that modifications are documented and compliance is demonstrated through objective evidence
• Act as the web administrator for the plant's SharePoint site, assisting the various departments in developing the sites

• Facilitate the Mon-Fri Daily Routine Management meeting, Update assigned actions from the meeting
• Assist in identification of root causes for issues identified during the Daily meeting
• Audit the Routine management meetings on a regular basis and update the data into the BAS system
• Send out the information from the Daily Routine Management meeting daily Mon-Fri
• Support and train in World Class Manufacturing initiatives to help the plant remove/reduce Losses
• Support the Loss Team leaders and help coach them on the WCM process
• Work on various projects assigned by the Continuous Improvement Leader
• Document defects from Manufacturing Operations and analyze their root causes
• Ability to use appropriate software to gather and report data on manufacturing performance
• Ability to use continuous improvement techniques for problem solving
• Provide training on the plant's business management system

Required Qualifications:

• Thorough knowledge of ISO Standards 9001, 14001, and 45001
• Knowledge of manufacturing operations required

• Knowledge of appropriate computer based programs
• A thorough knowledge and understanding of the use and application of statistical quality assurance methods
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Experience with and/or train in SPC, Control Plans, FMEA's, and problem solving techniques
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong knowledge of quality engineering principles

Preferred Qualifications:

• Aluminum Casting Experience
• SPC training/certification

• Process/Technical/Operations experience
• LEAN Six Sigma Black Belt certification
• World Class Manufacturing experience
• Auditing certification or minimum of 5 years auditing experience
