Vertiv is hiring a Quality Supervisor in Ironton, OH to support our quality department. They will support the Quality Manager with the implementation and maintenance of quality initiatives. Areas include in-process inspection, testing, final inspection, first article inspection and MRB. Shall demonstrate excellent communication skills, foster associates by leading by example, and will be responsible for promoting a positive and effective environment for your team. A highly organized, and strategic supervisor who is able to prioritize will find success in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage Product & Process Quality team members in multiple product development and quality improvement projects including:
    • Monitoring and reporting of prototype build ramp up and production release
    • Product Failure/issue tracking from development forward
    • Quality documentation development, release, and maintenance
    • Ongoing product quality measurement, tracking and reporting based on field issues associated with start-up, mis-shipment and warranty claims on product systems and components
  • Provides leadership in establishing and maintaining appropriate adaptations and uniform use of the Vertiv NPD process within Data Center Solutions (DCS) development processes
  • Establishes appropriate quality assurance and quality control metrics, score cards, and mechanisms to report the status through the Tier system.
  • Manage interactions and conflict resolution between Quality team and multiple internal customers and suppliers including Software Design & Development, Hardware, Firmware, System Architecture, Product Management, Product Owners and impacted organizational disciplines
  • Generate recommendations for appropriate remedial activities, QC applications, or training.
  • Critical review of how the groups is organized and how they go about performing their tasks
  • Lead resource planning, scheduling, and forecasting for both local and globally dispersed test teams.
  • Provide mentoring and continuous improvement experience regarding industry leading quality processes and methodologies.
  • Supervise associates involved in department activities, including assigning, and reviewing work and evaluating performance. Supervise, delegate, and prioritize workload. Train staff on policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Monitors production & performance. Provides regular feedback and conducts employee performance reviews. Encourages and facilitates implementation of improvements and development.
  • Foster employee engagement and ensure that business and operational goals are effectively communicated to employees. Acts as a role model and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Promote a positive working environment that encourages employee involvement to achieve excellence in productivity, customer service, quality, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines is essential.
  • Build strong working relationships within the immediate Quality team, and across the various cross-functional areas, both domestic and international
  • Strong initiative to drive for resolution of issues, including both short term immediate corrective actions and sustainable long-term product and process improvements
  • Knowledge in electrical, mechanical and software design, development, and test validation
  • Knowledge in complete development cycle processes including production release processes, supplier qualification requirements, production qualification and validation processes, production testing.
  • Fundamental Reliability test requirements and methodologies associated with establishing estimated life reliability test models
  • Good verbal and written communication, organizational skills, and ability to work with various functional departments in a team environment.
  • Motivated self-starter, with a high capacity for rapid learning and meticulous attention to detail
  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or Related Technical Field is preferred.
  • 5 years of related leadership role is preferred.
