SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance / Quality Control Supervisor position is a critical role throughout the entire manufacturing process. This role is responsible to assure that products are made to client specifications via inspections at various points of completion, as well as, prior to shipping the deliverables.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assures a quality product is shipped to the customer.

Verifies that products are built to specification throughout the fabrication process.

Makes sure product / equipment functions as designed.

Operates an effective QC program via establishing and enforcing protocols.

Sets and follows through on scheduled inspections, including taking photos and documentation.

Uses Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel and good keyboard acclimation.

Duties include: proper use of all basic hand tools, climbing ladders and accessing confined spaces, verification of proper welds and matching parts to drawings.

All other duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements include on time delivery, jobs shipped with no outstanding issues, customer feedback, Service Reports, punch list is completed and signed off, and all documentation has been completed and put into job pocket.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to any training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and a minimum of two (2) years' related experience in Manufacturing Quality Control, or equivalent combination of education / experience. Utilizes previous heavy metal experience to oversee the welding process and ensure clean welds are delivered.

Ability to use discretion in the handling of confidential or sensitive information.

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic. Work is primarily performed in a factory, machine shop or construction environment. The ability to verbally communicate alarms or warnings clearly, concisely, loudly and quickly, to clearly and quickly hear or otherwise sense alarms or warnings and take appropriate action. The ability to see and distinguish colors, to visually distinguish shapes and patterns, to accurately sense distances (depth perception), to accurately see objects and detect motion at wide angles (peripheral vision). May have exposure to indoor/outdoor adverse weather conditions. Frequent exposure to noise - workers must wear protective hearing equipment or frequently shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. Exposure to pollutants or allergens which can adversely affect the skin and/or the respiratory system such as gases, smoke, odors, mists, fumes, dust, chemicals, oils or solvents. Exposure to hazardous working conditions including moving machinery, electricity and/or working in high places. May be exposed to hot objects, flames or sparks. The job requires the use of protective equipment such as hard hats, respirators, aprons, gloves, special clothing, safety shoes and safety glasses.
