Our client is a friendly, team-orientated, mid-sized General Contractor based in San Francisco. They specialize in multifamily Market Rate & Affordable Housing projects with a self-performance concrete division. With a steady pool of secured funding for a number of affordable housing projects, they currently have a rare opening for a Quality Assurance Manager with a vertical construction background to join the team in San Francisco.

Your new role

The role of the Quality Assurance Manager is to lead the design review meetings with clients, the design team and specialty consultants on a variety of multifamily housing and concrete projects with typical values up to $150k. Here is a summary of the key tasks.

• Transition projects from Quality Assurance to Operations by summarizing the QA design review period.
• Review project designs for compliance with California building codes and regulations.
• Perform detailed QA Reviews of design documents, focusing on building envelopes, waterproofing, roofing assemblies, and windows/storefronts.
• Assist the Preconstruction team in developing (RFIs) for the design team.
• Attend company and industry events, including meetings, training and trade shows.
• Stay updated on building codes, new products and industry developments.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned.

What you'll need to succeed

The position requires a Degree in Architecture, Engineering or related discipline + a minimum of 5 years of construction or design experience, ideally with a General Contractor, subcontractor or Architecture firm with a focus on building envelope waterproofing design. It also requires up-to-date knowledge of the CA building codes and regulations & p roficiency in reading plans, specifications, and project-related documents, along with experience in the bidding processes and project management. As this role is critical to the projects moving forward, you must demonstrate initiative, organizational skills, effective communication, teamwork & dependability. You must be IT savvy with experience in Bluebeam and any experience in BIM, AutoCAD, Procore, Building Connected, and P6 are highly desirable.
