The Power Technologies Division performs commissioning, ground-fault/arc flash studies, failure analysis, reliability engineering, and project management for owners of mission critical infrastructure.

SourceOne, Inc. is actively seeking an energetic and self-motivated Quality Assurance Analyst to join our Business Solutions team in the Boston office. This position is located at 53 State Street, Boston, MA. This position will be a key part of the SourceOne management team responsible for providing energy consulting support and maintaining good working relationships with all SourceOne customers. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, fast paced environment.

We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Analyst and self-motivated software tester who can work either solo or with our multi-platform development team (this is a very fast paced group, working with both local and remote teams) to validate new features and functionality throughout the application and assist in functional and automating testing developer solutions. Our ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of energy, including but not limited to, utility invoices, metered data, commodity markets, and Green House Gas protocols.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with the development team to design and implement test cases and plans.
  • Document system bug findings and communicate effectively to the development team how to duplicate the issue.
  • Document and communicate effectively completed work so development team and testers understand what has been done.
  • Work with personnel outside of the solutions group to isolate and properly document issues.

Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor's of Science /Bachelor of Arts degree.
* 3 years minimum Quality Assurance experience.
* Must have a strong understanding of modern web technologies, such as:
o Report viewers (Telerik or related)
o JIRA (or related ticketing software)
o Team communicators
* Work closely with a multi-platform development team to validate new features and functionality throughout the complete application.
* Document and report test results on a continuous basis.
* Work with personnel outside of the solutions group to isolate and properly document bugs.
* Create test cases and possibly test plans.
* Must possess strong communication skills (this can't be stressed enough). You will be working with a very fast paced group who will require you to communicate clearly and effectively or you will become a bottleneck for releases which are done as often as possible.
* Must be able to work in a dynamic environment where priorities change throughout the week.
* Additional experience in and knowledge of energy and utility management, SQL, CSS and other programming languages, automated testing applications, and bug tracking systems is a plus.
* You will also need to know or be willing to learn some SQL, a lot of the work we do is SQL based and you'll need to verify SQL query results.
* Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to manage a dynamic work load are a must.
* You will need to know or be willing to learn automated web testing tools.
* Must have a strong understanding of modern web technologies.
