Lasko Products Inc., the nation's leading producer of home comfort products, has an opening for a full-time Business Analyst reporting to the Manager of Applications. As a member of a dynamic team, you will be engaged in the acquisition, deployment and ongoing support of applications and technologies. In addition, you will help Lasko's top tier operations by supporting and enhancing the use of existing applications to meet the business needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated individual to grow their knowledge understanding of manufacturing practices.

The selected candidate will be actively involved in application implementation and assist in refining processes and practices. The candidate will be expected to work as a liaison between IT and other parts of the organization to help meet common business goals and champion new technologies across departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Match application features and conventions to business requirements and help implement these with business users, especially QAD ERP systems
  • Create user manuals and how-to documentation for front-facing applications and future development reference
  • Recommend policy and best practices for use of newly implemented technologies
  • As necessary, make system configuration changes required for maintenance and implementation
  • Bridge the gap between application features and user needs for information and procedures
  • Provide non-technical explanations for technical solutions
  • Provide Tier-II-IV help desk support for in-house and third-party applications

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate directly with users to understand application issues and system requirements.
  • Practice and enforce defined development, testing, and change control standards
  • Provide after-hours support as part of an on-call rotation

Physical Requirements

  • Physically able to perform the Essential and Additional Duties and Responsibilities of the job including; walking, and sitting, standing, occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in QAD ERP systems and processes
  • Ability to communicate on both the technical and non-technical level including end users
  • Able to mine non-technical business requirements from users and find solutions already embedded in applications.
  • Knowledge and some ability in web application programming and technologies
  • Ability to pick up new applications quickly and adapt to new technologies
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and time effectively
  • Good IT working knowledge
  • A self-starter who possesses strong customer focus, command skills, agreeable with implementing change and dealing with ambiguity
  • Analytical, problem solving, and organization skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive relationship building skills in order to acquire trust of business partners
  • Strong confidentiality practices
