Job Description
QA TESTER - REMOTE

The Select Group is looking for a QA Tester to support UI and functionality testing of various, custom applications. This role consists of both manual and automated testing. This position is 100% remote anywhere in the US. Any time zone is accepted within local working hours as long as there is flexibility towards the needs of meetings and crucial working hours.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 1-3 years professional experience in manual testing role
• Java/JavaScript and Selenium for manual testing
• Willingness to step into automation testing for the other half of the project responsibilities

• Experience with Playwright and Puppeteer for automated testing is a plus, but not required
• Bachelor's Degree

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead all QA efforts within assigned area while staying aligned with SIE's processes and practices.
• Contribute to the improvement of team processes and be proactive in efforts for innovation within the QA Corporate Application structure.
• Build an expert level of understanding in JIRA, Confluence, and potentially other collaboration tools in the Corporate Applications suite.
• Build an expert level understanding of integrations, processes and flows of the QA workflow for test case creation, execution, reporting and bug tracking.
• Create and execute automated test scripts in a Node.js environment, which utilizes Mocha framework and Playwright web driver, written in JavaScript language.
• Refactor existing test automation scripts.
• Assist in improvement of the existing automation testing framework.
• Track all testing efforts in the test case management application, qTest.
• Create test cases based on acceptance criteria, perform manual test execution and log test execution results.
• Submit defects based on failed testing and track them.
• Perform various types of testing dependent on the circumstance, including Unit testing, Integration testing, System testing, Smoke testing, Regression testing, Acceptance testing, Performance testing and Load testing.
• Provide insight for improving acceptable criteria, to help bridge the gap between the business stakeholders and developers.
• Effectively manage workload and follow best practices within the team, which tracks work in JIRA while using Scaled Agile Framework for the Enterprise (SAFe).
